Galapagos Islands

As a proud landowner and dedicated enthusiast of the preservation of the Galapagos Islands, James Sawyer brings his time and knowledge to others interested in their exploration.

The Galapagos Islands

A regular visitor with his friends and family, Sawyer enjoys offering his time and service as a tour operator – always ready and willing to provide free advice, tour coordination and travel advisory services to anyone visiting Ecuador’s serene volcanic islands!

By Land or By Sea

Currently, he is considering leading efforts that encourage sustainable tourism to the Galapagos Islands.  Maintaining the natural beauty and cleanliness of the 21 islands is paramount, in his view. In the future, he hopes to highlight this idea for potential tourists and visitors.

He is engaged in coordinating trips to the Galapagos Islands for scenic travel as well as lengthy vacations.

Sawyer offers everything from free travel advice, land tours and excursions by sea. He has multiple relationships with existing travel agents and boat charters – not to mention years of knowledge and love for the islands.

Galapagos Chocolate

He purchased land and subsequently constructed an eco-beach lodge “Mia Playa”. (See VRBO) on the island of Isabella. On one trip in the aftermath of the Fukushima Earthquake in Japan he witnessed the impact at his beachfront of the tsunami emanating from thousands of miles away and 9 hours later.

After purchasing land on Isabella Island for the construction of two twin town houses in a joint venture with a local guide, James Sawyer became passionate about his contributions to the Galapagos Islands.  Joined by another local guide, Sawyer is leading a project that will become the first organized Galapagos chocolate farm on Santa Cruz Island. At this stage, he and his partner in the effort have planted an entire farm of cocoa trees. Sawyer is excited to see how this delicious experience will unfold!

The Charles Darwin Foundation

In addition to his touring and chocolate pursuits, James Sawyer is also involved in efforts led by the Charles Darwin Foundation in Galapagos.  His commitment to preserving and protecting the beautiful Galapagos Islands is paramount.  More than just a place to vacation, Sawyer’s land in the area is truly his home away from home.  That’s why he is dedicated to bettering the area in any way that he can! He actively accomplishes this goal by supporting the Darwin Foundation.  The Foundation is credited with developing the Charles Darwin Research Center, Galapagos Conservatory and Galapagos Conservation Trust. These projects directly contribute to research and conservation efforts throughout the area’s 21 total islands.
